These 2 films were created by contemporary artists brook & black as part of a community arts project working with members of MIND and Young Dementia UK. In a series of workshops incorporating collage, text, film and sound, the participants made personal responses to themes located in the painting.
The structure of the painting provides a metaphor, in which an individuals past, present and future can be located in the interior room, the balcony and the view. With this in mind, participants constructed a poetic, collaborative work, each offering individual vignettes showing themselves situated on the balcony surveying their own views on life.
